Certified Nurse Assistant
POSITION SUMMARY

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Provides basic patient care under the supervision of an RN and an LVN. Documents patient care as directed. Participates in providing a safe therapeutic environment, and develops and maintains effective communication with the patient, family, and staff members.

Work Schedule

Director of Nursing
POSITION SUMMARY
Organizes and directs areas of Nursing Services to attain the hospital's objectives established by the governing authority. Directs hospital and nursing activities coincidental with defined hospital policies and procedures. Responsible for nurse staffing and quality of nursing care. - Organizes and directs the administration of nursing care consistent with recognized medical and nursing standards and hospital policies and procedures.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education
Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing. BSN, preferably MSN, required, or experience commensurate with job accountabilities.
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of professional nursing principles and practices and verbal, interpersonal and quantitative skills typically acquired through two to three years of supervisory experience as a Director of Nursing or Hospital Chief Nursing Officer.
Required Certification & Licensure
Registration and licensed with the Texas Board of Nursing; CPR certification required, ACLS certification preferred.

General Supervisor of Laboratory Services
POSITION SUMMARY
Plans, organizes and delineates duties and responsibilities of laboratory personnel under the direction of Administration and the Laboratory Medical Director. Acknowledges and responds appropriately to the hospital's customer relations philosophy, including the five fundamentals of the AIDET program.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Directs all department activity to assure a coordinated effort to fulfill department responsibilities within the long range plan of the hospital.
- Directs and supervises the operations of the Department and Rural Health Clinic labs to ensure the quality of services.
- Supports the hospital’s philosophy, goals and objectives and maintains a safe working environment for self, co-workers, patients, and visitors.
- Approves programs and plans for the department, including staff education and competence.
- Demonstrates patient centered/patient valued behaviors, including knowledge and skill in meeting age related and handicapped patient’s needs.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education
Associates degree with emphasis in biology or chemistry and M.L.T. (ASCP) or equivalent. Ongoing M.L.T. Certification is required. At least 5 years experience in a supervisory capacity in a laboratory accredited by either, CLIA or Medicare certified.
Physical Demands
Will be scheduled to work shifts ranging from 4 to 16 hours. The following is based on an average 8 hour day: Sitting - less than 4 hours per day; standing/walking - remainder of shift. Will be required to bend/stoop, squat, climb, kneel, reach above shoulder level, push and pull equipment; be able to lift/carry up to 40 lbs. Must be able to read and write the English language and understand basic medical terminology.
Working Conditions
Will work in a relatively noisy environment. Includes working with human specimens that may contain pathogenic organisms and emit unsavory odors. The environment also includes working with hazardous and toxic chemicals that require care in their use.
Laboratory Assistant
POSITION SUMMARY
Under direction and supervision of a Medical Technologist, obtains patient samples, performs basic non-interpretive technical procedures, answers the telephone, files and charts patient reports according to prescribed laboratory policies and procedures. - Ability to perform non-interpretive technical laboratory procedures under the supervision of a Medical Technologist.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS/
Minimum Education
High school education is the formal education preferred. Minimum of two years experience as a phlebotomist. No certification required. On-the-job training and education is provided. Emotional demands require working under stressful circumstances with frequent interruptions. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Clerical skills necessary to maintain logs and reports in a neat and orderly manner. Must be able to adapt to precise instructions and procedures when collecting blood samples. Demonstrates interpersonal skills in utilizing tact and genuine caring and concern when dealing with patients. Work is of medium demand and requires walking, standing and sitting for most of the shift. Position requires skills in working with patients ranging in age from newborn to geriatric.
This position has been determined to be at a high risk for potential exposure to blood and/or body fluids.
Experience

Licensed Vocational Nurse
POSITION SUMMARY

- Performs delegated functions in compliance with the hospital and nursing department policies, protocols and procedures. Delivers nursing care in an organized manner to groups of patients in compliance with hospital and nursing department policies, protocols and procedures. Provides patient care based on the nursing process. Monitors the patient’s behavioral and physiological status.
- Demonstrates patient centered/patient valued behaviors. Demonstrates knowledge and skill in meeting age-related and handicapped patient’s needs.

Medical Laboratory Technician
POSITION SUMMARY
The MLT working at the staff level is responsible for the performance of a wide variety of laboratory tests, routine and complex, on body fluids and substances to provide data in the diagnosis or treatment of diseases. This position requires knowledge in all areas of the laboratory and the ability to make sound professional judgments. Must have a high school diploma, Associate degree in a two-year MLT college or technical program, or a certified Medical Laboratory Technician and/or registered with the American Society of Clinical Pathologist (ASCP) or equivalent or eligible.
Experience
No experience required for entry level. Six months to one year related experience and/or training is preferred. Computer experience is helpful.

Must be able to work from 4 to 16 hour shifts with a normal shift being 8-10 hours. Will stand/walk 4 or more hours of normal shift; bend, squat, stoop, reach above shoulder level. Push and pull equipment or supplies weighing up to 100 lbs. and lift 40 lbs. Must be able to read and write the English language. Requires good manual dexterity.

Work Schedule
Normal work schedule is Monday through Friday with shifts rotating between days and evening hours. All techs are required to provide call-back coverage on a rotating basis & must be within 30 minutes of the hospital during call-shift. All techs may be required to assist in providing weekend coverage if necessary. Routine schedule will be specified at hire but may include any shift if the need arises to provide adequate coverage.
Pharmacy Technician
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsibilities of the Pharmacy Technician include compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, codes, and standards of the facility. Pharmacy Technicians work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist and do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a licensed pharmacist. The Pharmacy Technician assists the pharmacist in providing effective, appropriate, and safe pharmacy services. Phlebotomist

Laboratory phlebotomists are responsible for the collection of blood specimens for laboratory testing ; company drug screen collections; and all clerical duties associated with specimen collection and referral.
